Adams Ladies Club
AWARD: $1200.00
Support the printing of the History of Adams, Volume VI, a
book that chronicles this community's heritage. Other
funding: $2,035.
Supports goal to inventory and/or preserve historical
materials and sites.
Benefit: Direct—300 copies of the book were printed. The
books are purchased by current residents and former
residents throughout the United States. They are also used
for genealogy research. Complimentary copies are placed at
the East Oregonian, the Oregon Historical Society and the
Oregon State Library.
Fourth Grade Heritage Project (county-wide)
AWARD: $2000.00
Teach Umatilla County's 4th grade students the value of their
local history through docent-led tours of Heritage Station
Museum, by viewing a video about the Oregon Trail and by
completing on or more art projects. Other funding $800 plus
busing costs.
Supports goal to develop awareness and provide
opportunities to experience heritage, arts, and humanities by
increasing exposure in schools (K-12) including... tours and
field trips.
Benefit: 811 fourth grade students and 100 adults
(teachers and chaperones).
Pendleton Round-Up and Happy Canyon Hall of Fame
AWARD: $1000.00
Reformat historic Round-Up and Happy Canyon film.
Digitized footage can be used and the original film can be
stored, protected from changes in temperature and humidity.
Supports goal to inventory and or preserve historical
materials and sites.
Benefit: Direct: Pendleton Round-Up and Happy Canyon
Hall of Fame organizations. Indirect: Visitors to Hall of Fame
and those conducting research.
Pendleton Urban Renewal District
AWARD: $1000.00
Develop and print a walking tour brochure for Pendleton's
Historic District. Other support: In-Kind donation of City staff
and volunteer time.
Supports goal to develop awareness and provide
opportunities to experience heritage, arts, and humanities.
Benefit: Direct: Local residents and the general public will
be more aware of Pendleton's historic buildings and local
history.
Umatilla Museum & Historical Foundation
AWARD: $2600.00
Create a mural depicting "The Castle" (Umatilla's former high
school) on the Museum's exterior wall.
Supports goal to develop aesthetic components that
enhance quality of life in communities.
Benefit: Direct: Public awareness of this impressive historic
structure. Aesthetic enhancement of museum building.
Clark Calahan, sponsor of Xuacu Amieva's visit
AWARD: $1500.00
Bring an internationally acclaimed musician to perform the
bagpipe for Umatilla County's students
Supports goal to develop awareness and provide
opportunities to experience heritage, arts and humanities.
Benefit: Direct: Musical enrichment for more than 1730
Umatilla County audiences and an additional 3600 in Walla
Walla & Seattle audiences.
